What are homographs?

Homographs are a subcategory of homonyms. They are words that are written the same way but do not have the same meaning. Unlike homophones, homographs can be pronounced differently.

Here is a (non-exhaustive) list of homographs that will help you avoid confusing them.

Example:
 Ce livre pèse moins d’une livre.This book weighs less than a pound.
livre can mean book or pound
