Centre commercial en chantier

Un centre commercial est en construction près de chez nous. Le chantier a commencé il y a deux mois. La grue est si haute qu’elle domine tous les autres bâtiments du quartier. Comme sur tout chantier de construction, c’est très bruyant. Depuis la maison, on entend souvent le bruit de teuf-teuf de la pelleteuse. Les camions bennes aussi font du bruit, ils déchargent en permanence de nouveaux matériaux. C’est un gros chantier de construction.

Sur le chantier, il y a beaucoup d’ouvriers qualifiés, par exemple des maçons qui font le béton dans la bétonnière. À l’aide de truelles, ils maçonnent des murs de briques. À la fin, les plombiers s’occuperont de l’installation des conduites d'eau et poseront les tuyaux.

Pour des raisons de sécurité, chaque ouvrier doit porter un casque. Il y a en outre une clôture tout autour du chantier.

Par chance, le chantier est presque fini. Avec tant de bruit, je ne peux pas étudier calmement à la bibliothèque. Elle se trouve à côté du nouveau centre commercial.

Building the Shopping Centre

They are building a new shopping centre nearby. Construction started two months ago. The crane is so tall that it towers over all other buildings in the neighbourhood. Like any building site, it’s really loud. At home, we can often hear the digger banging away. The dump trucks also make a lot of noise, they are constantly unloading new materials. It’s a big building site.

On the site, there are lots of skilled construction workers, like the bricklayers who make cement in the cement mixer. They use their trowels to build brick walls. At the end, the plumbers will install the water mains and lay the pipes.

For health and safety reasons, every worker has to wear a helmet. There’s also a fence surrounding the site.

Luckily, the building work is almost finished. With so much noise, i can’t study in peace at the library. It’s right next to the new shopping centre.
