Le cheveu vs. les cheveux
When talking about the hair on your head in French, we always use the plural: les cheveux.
- Example:
- Catherine a de longs cheveux bruns.Catherine has long brown hair.
We only use the singular cheveu to talk about a specific, single hair.
- Exemples :
- Il y a un cheveu dans ma soupe. Non, il y a même deux cheveux !There’s a hair in my soup! Wait, no, there are actually two hairs!
