In French, paronyms(les paronymes) are words that are extremely similar to one another, but are not actually true homonyms. They are not pronounced or written in the same way, however they resemble each other so closely it is easy to mix them up: sometimes there is only one letter difference between two paronyms! To help you avoid getting mixed up, we’ve created a list of the most common paronyms in French grammar.

to take someone from one place to another (emphasis on the point of departure) to take something with you

to drive someone somewhere, to give someone a lift/ride (emphasis on the destination) to bring something with you
